Hello, I'm Tawnya. I live in Denver, CO and am a full-time wife and mommy as well as have a full-time career. I thought I would start this blog to document the struggles of pulling off all three at one time. My hope is to connect with other mothers out there and build a community of support. If you choose to follow this blog (or even just catch a post here and there) you can expect to find posts on motherhood (including baby milestones, product reviews, etc), marriage, health and fitness, and education/career related posts.
Motherhood
I became a mom in November 2016, so I am by no means an expert of motherhood. I'm hoping to share my experiences as well as learn experiences of other mothers out there. This journey has definitely been a roller coaster. From finding out I was pregnant to now, there have been several ups and downs (mostly ups) that have really impacted my experience. Since I didn't start my blog until now, I plan to have a few posts of my pregnancy and labor experiences.
Marriage
I have been blessed with an amazing partner. We've been together for 5 years and been married for almost 1 year and a half. He is the love of my life and an amazing father to our daughter. He amazes me every day. We were not planning to start a family so soon, but then the Broncos won Super Bowl 50 and we now have our beautiful daughter. Yes, our sweet little angel is a Super Bowl baby. Don't know what that is? Watch the video below... #FootballisFamily #SuperBowl50baby
Career
I currently work in higher education. My passion is to help under served students. I am very career driven and have worked very hard to get where I am. In May I will graduate with my Masters of Education and Human Resource Studies. I will not talk a bunch about my career specifically, just more of how I juggle being a wife and mom combined with having a career.
Health and Fitness
Many women hope to get their pre-baby body back. I am no different. I have struggled my whole life with weight. I am a Hispanic girl who loves to eat. I'm a curvy girl for sure and I don't want to lose my curves. I just want to be healthy and confident. I also want to make sure I am an example for my daughter. It is important that she have a positive idea of body image and someone to look up to. I don't ever want her to think that her worth is in the number on the scale or even the size of clothing she wears, but to be confident in who she is. It is important that she learn to be active and eat healthy, not for her weight but for her overall health. :)
So... that's about it for my first blog post. Thanks for reading. I look forward to this journey.
